Machine Classes

Theses classes are for machines purchased from

Sprinkles Sewing Center.

We have changed the structure of our classes. We offer these classes 4 - 5 times per year. Spring and Fall sessions will have evening class choices.

Classes last approximately 2 1/2 hours. These are not "How-to-Sew" classes. These classes are designed to familiarize you with the features and buttons of your machine. For "How-to-Sew" classes, please see our Creative Classes page.

Babylock Pfaff Sergers

If you have purchased your machine from us, you may take these classes as many times as you wish at no charge. If you have taken the classes already, your name will be placed on the "wait" list until those who have not had their classes, have a chance to sign-up.

If you have purchased your machine elsewhere, there will be a $50 charge.

Classes for BabyLock

Class 1 - Getting Familiar with your new machine. In this class, you will learn about threads, needles and presser feet. We will teach you how to wind a bobbin, how to thread your machine, ways to select stitches and alter them. Learn to customize the options on your machine, so that you can utilize them best for the type of sewing you do. We will also teach the use of your machine's memories for those models that have them. You must bring your own machine for this class. We will also need all of the presser feet included with the machine.

Class Date and Time: Wed., May 19th at 9:30 AM for Choice machine models.

Class Date and Time: Wed., May 26th at 9:30 AM for Quest models.

Class Date and Time: Thurs., May 13th at 1:30 PM or 6:30 PM for Esante, Ellageo, Ellegante and Ellisimo

Class Date and Time: Tues., May 11th at 1:30 PM for Ellure and Ellure Plus

	Class 2 - Learn to Embroider with your embroidery machine. We will teach how to use the lettering in your machine, how to do embroidered appliqué and more. You will need to supply a cotton kitchen towel for the class. Please bring a flat towel, not one with loops. You will also need tear-away stabilizer, 505 temporary spray adhesive, a selection of embroidery threads in various colors, (check out our 18 ct sampler boxes) and a 4" square of red fabric and a 2" square or green fabric for the apple applique. Here is a picture of the design we will use:

	You must bring your own machine and embroidery unit, etc. for this class. Please bring everything that was included with your machine.

Classes for Sergers

Class 1 - For Imagine and Eclipse models: Getting familiar with your serger. We will teach you how to thread your serger, read the threading chart, and discuss the most common uses for the types of stitches the serger can make. Plus we will be making a small eyeglass case project. You will need to supply 2 - 7 1/2 " squares of cotton fabric and 1 - 7 1/2" square of thin fusible fleece plus 4 cones of serger thread to make the project. Plus you will need to bring your serger and everything that was included with it, especially the threading chart!

Class Date and Time: Friday, May 14th at 9:30 AM

Class 2 - For Evolve and Pfaff 4872,4862, and 4850 models. Getting familiar with your serger. We will teach you how to thread your serger, read the threading chart, and discuss the most common uses for the types of stitches the serger can make. Plus we will be making a small eyeglass case project. You will need to supply 2 - 7 1/2 " squares of cotton fabric and 1 - 7 1/2" square of thin fusible fleece plus 4 cones of serger thread to make the project. Classes for Pfaff

Class 1 - Getting Familiar with your new machine. In this class, you will learn about threads, needles and presser feet. Class 2 - Learn to Embroider with your embroidery machine. We will teach how to use the lettering in your machine, how to do embroidered appliqué and more with our Towel Project. See a picture and the description above under Babylock embroidery classes. A supply list will be given to you at Class 1, Sewing Basics on your machine.

General Information about Classes

Please call 544-2292 to confirm that you will be attending at least three days prior to your class. We need to know how to set-up our classroom for each session and we have a class limit of 6 students at time. We reserve the right to cancel classes with less than 3 participants.

These classes are specifically for new machine owners. These classes cover the basic use and operation of your machine.

Your "Basic Machine Class" covers: Bobbin Winding, Machine Threading, Changing Presser Feet, Selecting Stitches and Setting Stitch Width and Length. If you have purchased an electronic machine, we will also cover the "Icons" on your machine screen. Please be aware, these are NOT "How to Sew" classes.

Your "Basic Embroidery Class" covers: How to engage the embroidery unit, attaching the embroidery foot, combining designs, using lettering and basic embroidery editing. We will show proper fabric hooping technique and offer a short discussion of stabilizers. This class includes a project to get you started. Embroidery does require ongoing learning and a willingness to experiment. This class gets you started. For more in-depth ideas and information, refer to our creative club or join us for a creative class.

Your "Basic Serger Class" is designed to cover: how to thread the serger, a short theory discussion of how a serger works, and how to read your threading chart.

You must bring your machine and all accessories including the manual with you for classes.
